Since its inception in 1999, EBAN has demonstrated commitment in developing capacity, knowledge and experience in the context of early stage ventures financing, especially angel investment, investment in innovative companies, support of entrepreneurship and startups growth. Today EBAN has 152 members in 53 countries all active in the above fields.
Our constituency is diverse, reaching all of the EU 28 Member States and representing a wide range of market players: business angels, business angel networks, business angel federations, early stage funds, business accelerators and electronic funding platforms. Beyond the EU, EBAN reaches out to members in other 17 European countries (eg. Switzerland, Ukraine, Norway, Macedonia,); the Middle East North Africa (MENA) where EBAN incubated MBAN; Africa, where EBAN incubated the African Business Angels Network (ABAN); Asia (Malaysia and Korea); Oceania (eg. Australia and New Zealand); South America (Brazil, Chile, Colombia) and North America (Canada and USA). EBAN reckons that a truly competitive ecosystem requires developed community both on the investor and entrepreneur ends. Therefore, while EBAN represents the interest of investors, it is strongly engaged in fostering an entrepreneurial community with great potential by professionalizing and training companies to be ready to receive investment and scale. With this aim, EBAN mobilizes its resources and network and connects entrepreneurs with the financial and knowledge capital they need.
